Friday 7 - Sunday 9 July @ East Farm, avebury
Avebury Rocks is a celebration of all forms of great live music, from rock to folk and everything in between. We aim to bring you a fantastic weekend of musical treats - you might even discover your new favourite band! All proceeds from Avebury Rocks go towards supporting the ongoing care provided by local charity Prospect Hospice.
Avebury Rocks was the inspiration of local-born musician Nick Harper as a way to give something back to Prospect Hospice, the local hospice who provided care for his late mother. Nick, with the help of David Uttley and the original organising committee, set out to find a talented and willing group of musicians who would happily perform in a field in Wiltshire, next to the famous standing stones of Avebury. Seven years later we're still going strong!
For 2017 you can expect an eclectic line-up of local and national artists over two stages on Friday night and all day Saturday – keep checking the line-up page for new announcements! As usual, we'll be championing those making new and original music, but we’re sure they’ll be a few favourites to sing along to. There will also be some fun workshops to get involved in, as well as delicious food and drink provided by local suppliers.
For those more energetic festival-goers, there's also the opportunity to join us for a Saturday morning walk across the Neolithic landscape Avebury is so famous for. If you’d like to take part in the walk, we’d love it if you could ask your friends and family to sponsor you to raise funds for Prospect Hospice. It doesn’t matter how much you raise, just £5 will pay for the fuel for a nurse to visit a patient at home or £65 will enable a family member to be supported by our bereavement team following the loss of a loved one.
